2pacAfter recording the One Nation album with the Boot Camp Clik in June, 2Pac still had to finish the Outlawz album. We have some handwritten papers of that time. But it is difficult to know if they are from beginning of summer or from the end.
tracklist entitled 'Ghetto Starz Rulez of the Game'

2pac War Games Bpm

You can notice that almost no songs are taken back from the pre-One Nation Outlawz project, just 'Hollywood, N.J.' (non leaked or non recorded ?). What happened to that old project called Euthanasia/Troublesome, The Secretz of War ? 'Hit 'Em Up' song is out as b-side and was supposed to be the first single of the Outlawz project. Something changed in the 2Pac projects. While he turned in solo to his Makaveli dark and mystic avatar, this second Outlawz project seems to have a whole new direction.
Another earlier tracklist, repartition of the verses

When you read this earlier tracklist, you could think that it has been written not a long time after One Nation. Also, there is the song 'Jawz Tight'. Is it the same song than the One Nation song ?
While he was finishing the recording of Makaveli, The Don Killuminati, Mopreme had gone his way and Big Syke was busy preparing his solo album Be Yo' Self (1996, Parole/RideOnUm), so the Thug Life 2 project was suspended. 2Pac was then thinking to many projects like compilations of leftover tracks (When I Get Free) or like One Nation. To release a collaboration album 2Pac+Outlawz, that was like a replacement of the old Dramacydal '95 project. Young Noble and Hussein had joined the group and the Outlaw Immortalz became Tha Outlawz without Mo & Syke.
The Amaru's GamezStill I Rise (1999, Amaru/Interscope) was a little taste of what it was supposed to be, but in a remixed version and with the addition of some tracks taken from Thug Life 2. So this bootleg contains late tracks with the Outlaws.
Like you can see on this handwritten tracklist (from late summer of 96), this 2Pac+Outlawz album has had different names like 'Rulez of the Game' or 'Ghetto Starz'. Eventually 2Pac also thought to 'Black Jesuz' or 'Reincarnation'.
You can see how he checked the tracks 'Black Jesuz', 'Runnin' on E' and 'Lost Souls'... It could mean that these tracks were already recorded ('Black Jesuz' has been recorded the 12th of august), but what about 'Hell 4 A Hustla', 'Jawz Tight' from One Nation ? 'Thug Nation' has also been recorded but it is an Outlawz without 2Pac track included in Outlawz 96 album Retribution.

DETAILED TRACKLIST
01. Black Jesus feat. Kadafi, Storm & Kastro / 2Pac & Hurt-M-Badd
  • 1996/08/12. Remixed in Still I Rise (1999, Interscope).
02. War Gamez (Capture The Flag) feat. Napoleon, Edi, Young Noble & Kadafi / ?
2pac
  • 1996/07. This song disses Dre and uses again a verse starting by 'After fire comes the rain, after pleasure there's pain', that was originally on the song 'Untouchable', recorded in June. 'Killuminati' that uses as well the same beginning is from the early July, while the other Dre disses - 'Watch Your Mouth' and 'Toss It Up' are from late July and early August so this 'War Gamez' has probably been recorded around that time, after 'Killuminati'.
03. Catchin' Feelins / Darryl Harper
  • 1996/08/29. Remixed in Until The End of Time (2001). The song seems to be uncompleted, ready to receive other verses.
04. Runnin' On E feat. Hussein, Kadafi, Young Noble & Nutt-So / 2Pac
  • 1996/06. Released in Until The End of Time (2001). There is another version with Napoleon & Storm instead of Hussein but it is obvious that these verses have been recorded later for a posthumous album (voices are older). On some versions, 2Pac shot out to Smith N Wessun, Boot Camp and Buckshot the BDI at the end of the song, on other the song ended just before.
05. Lost Souls feat. Edi & Young Noble / QD3
  • 1996/07/8. There is also a version of the song with verses in a different order, available in The 3 Day Theory. The song was also planned to be a part of Ghetto Starz album. We chose to include it here because it was on many Makaveli tracklists.

06. Starin' Through My Rearview [version II] feat. Edi & Kadafi / Hurt-M-Badd
  • 1996/08. This second version is often called 'Move version' because you can hear it in the movie Gang Related and it is slightly different from the released version in the soundtrack.
07. Hell 4 A Hustler feat. Edi, Hussein, Young Noble & Napoleon / Big Simon Says
  • 1996/09/06. Remixed in Still I Rise (1999). Maybe this track has anterior versions because another date, July 1996, is known.
08. All Out (Die Slow) feat. Kadafi, Edi, Kastro, Napoleon & Young Noble / Big Simon Says
  • 1996/09/06. Remixed in Until The End of Time (2001).
09. High Speed feat. Kadafi & Edi / Darryl Harper
  • 1996/08. Remixed in Still I Rise (1999, Interscope).
10. Jawz Tight (Studio Take) / Daz
  • The song has been recorded as 'Let'z Fight' in a different mix for One Nation album with many guests (LS, Boot Camp Clik, Numskull, Edi, Napoleon & Kadafi. But Kadafi's verse is not finished. The end is only available on his own album Son Rize Vol. 1, in a remixed version, followed by an Hussein's verse. Is there any other versions available ?
11. Tattoo Tearz (version II) feat. Young Noble, Napoleon, Kadafi & Kastro / Kurupt & Edi
  • 1996/03/30 (?). Remixed in Still I Rise (1999, Interscope). This version sounds clearly different from the One Nation's version. It contains a sample of Coolio's 'Gangster's Paradise'. The Young Noble verse and the kind of music say that it is not from March but more from the summer of 96.
12. As The World Turns feat. Napoleon, Hussein, Edi & Kadafi / Darryl Harper
  • 1996/08. Remixed in Still I Rise (1999, Interscope).
13. Fortune & Fame feat. Kokane, Kadafi, Edi & Spice 1 / Hurt M Badd
  • 1996/06/12. Remixed in Better Dayz (2002).
14. The Good Die Young feat. Napoleon, Young Noble, Kastro, Edi & Val Young / Darryl Harper
  • 1996/07/22. Released in Still I Rise (1999, Interscope). The Young Noble's verse seems to mention 2Pac & Kadafi's death... or is it just a fiction by Noble because he also says 'first Storm' ?
15. Let'z Get Ready 2 Rumble (Let's Get It On) (Mike Tyson Dedication) / Big Simon Says
  • 1996/09/06. This song is the last track he recorded. He recorded it for Mike Tyson's fight against Bruce Seldon (September 7). In it, he already announced the next fight against Evander Holyfield (that would take place the 9th of November and will mark the decline of the Tyson career). We can notice that it wears the same subtitle ('Let's Get It On') than the first known 2Pac's recorded song (cf. 'Benefits of Poverty'). So... the circle is complete !!
